God Is Creative…Most Churches Are Not

Mark Batterson shares some wisdom on growing churches. Click here to read the entire post.

But, I want to focus on number 7) The more we grow…the easier it is to do ministry out of MEMORY instead of ministry out of IMAGINATION.

I like that. The first example that comes to mind is churches communicating an event with tagline “fun, food, & fellowship.” Whenever I see that tagline I stay away.

Our world changes so fast…Churches can’t stay stagnant. We must always be pushing the envelope. Allowing our creative God to use us to “show-off” his creativity. Boring is out, therefore most churches will not be able to reach and connect with the current complex generation in which God has called them to reach. Simply because they refuse to do what it takes to “compel” their generation to seek and pursue God.
