Life Has Slowed

It seems a bit strange to wake up and not be in “go” mode. We don’t have to scramble to get the girls ready for school, or rush off to a meeting for work. It feels good to just be still and relax. The good news for me is I’m not even thinking of church or the to-do list etc.

Like many, when work begins we will be full-throttle, lots of stuff needs to get done. But for now, for another day or two, I will enjoy the slow pace of life, the family, good food and drink. I hope to be rested and focused for the new year.

All my life I have considered the weeks after Christmas as the “empty after time”, I’ve even been told that depression can set in for some during this time. Your comments above give me something new to think about. Should the time of slowness and reflection after Christmas be recognized and regarded as holy and not just taken for granted? Hmmm…
